The official fee for trademark registration is charged per class: CNY 270 per class for online filing and CNY 300 per class for paper filing; each class is limited to 10 goods (service) items, and each item beyond 10 incurs a surcharge of CNY 30 (CNY 27 for online filing). This is the fee paid to the CNIPA Trademark Office and does not include agency service fees.
Fee Schedule
- Trademark registration acceptance fee (paper): CNY 300 per class, limited to 10 goods items in the class.
- Trademark registration acceptance fee (online): CNY 270 per class, i.e., a 10% discount on the paper rate.
- Surcharge for extra items: CNY 30 per additional goods item for paper filing and CNY 27 for online filing.
Common Examples
- Online filing, 1 class, up to 10 goods items: CNY 270.
- Online filing, 1 class, 15 goods items: 270 + 5×27 = CNY 405.
- Paper filing, 3 classes, 10 goods items per class: 300×3 = CNY 900.
Total Cost When Using an Agency
When engaging a recorded agency, an agency service fee is payable in addition to the official fee. Market rates typically range from several hundred to over one thousand yuan per class per application, depending on search depth, number of classes, and scope of services. Before signing, confirm whether the quote includes the official fee and whether it covers subsequent services such as review of refusal.
Payment Notes
The official fee is paid together with the application; once paid, it is not refunded even if the application is refused. For single-mark multi-class applications, the fee accumulates by number of classes—there is no bundled price.
Note: The fees in this article are updated to 2026. If official fees or service fees are adjusted, the latest announcements of CNIPA and the service provider shall prevail.
If you are unsure about the issues above, you can first do a self-service registration on MyTMBee and act only after obtaining an analysis from a CNIPA-recorded agent.
