Unregistered means unprotected?
Copyright arises automatically on completion, but a registration certificate is official proof of ownership — far easier evidence in plagiarism disputes, and often required for publishing and licensing deals.
Can unpublished works be registered?
Yes, unpublished works can be registered too — just state the completion date and publication status truthfully.
How long until I get the certificate?
After complete materials are filed, official processing time is approx. 20 business days (from acceptance); we track and sync progress throughout.
Could my manuscript leak?
An NDA is signed before submission and the manuscript is used only for the filing; post-registration public info does not include the full text.
What if I can't write the statement?
We provide a fill-in template, or ghostwrite it from your notes — just covering creative intent and process.
