Trademark Opposition
Opposition (objecting to someone else's mark that passed preliminary examination and is now published) is the legal route to block a similar or squatted mark. It must be filed within the statutory publication window (currently 3 months, shortened to 2 months when the revised Trademark Law takes effect on Jan 1, 2027) — miss it and you can only invalidate after registration, at higher cost.

FAQ
Is the opposition window only 3 months?
Currently 3 months from the preliminary publication date; it shortens to 2 months when the revised Trademark Law takes effect on Jan 1, 2027. After that, opposition is impossible; you can only seek invalidation after registration, costing more time and money.
How do I know if someone is squatting my brand?
Order the trademark monitoring service — the system scans every publication and alerts you to similar filings, catching the opposition window.
Will the opposition definitely block them?
Not guaranteed — CNIPA's decision prevails. We run a feasibility analysis first; stronger evidence (prior registration, prior use, reputation) means better odds.
What if the other side responds?
Their response is served on us; we relay it to you and discuss whether to file supplementary rebuttal — you never face the official procedure alone.
